Since February 2009 I have been a
writer and editor at Roll Bama Roll, the SB Nation website covering the
Alabama Crimson Tide. During that period the site has seen a more than fivefold increase in traffic. My articles have included
statistical analysis, in-depth features as well as detailed looks the history of the football program. I also have
written articles for Roll Bama Roll's annual season preview magazine published by Maple Street Press. In addition, I
pen occasional pieces for the SB Nation sites Team Speed Kills and
Football Study Hall. |

In 2003 I moved to South America and
became a freelance writer and photographer focusing on large-scale infrastructure projects across the region but also covering
issues such as terrorism, drug trade and human rights abuses. Major U.S. daily newspapers that have published my work
include Newsday, The San Francisco Chronicle and The Dallas Morning News. I have also
regularly contributed pieces to magazines such as Wired, Latin Trade Magazine and Engineering
News-Record. I also have worked part time in the Lima office of The Associated Press.

As night general assignment reporter I
wrote enterprise and project stories as well as covering breaking news. My work centered on public safety issues but
also included a variety of in-depth feature items on local subjects. |

I worked for two years as the public
safety reporter in the paper's Corona Bureau and then as a general assignment reporter in the Temecula Bureau. I
regularly won regional awards for my breaking news work while at the paper.

As the sole reporter in the paper's
northern circulation area, I was responsible for covering multiple city councils, parish governments, law enforcement.
During this time I also contributed numerous freelance articles to The Dallas Morning News. |
